The Church in the City
Check out this article from November's "Christianity Today", (that I originally found on Gideon Strauss' site) on the exploding church in New York City. I found it very encouraging. It seems to me that this is what the church should look like. On the other hand, this is an urban setting, which in many ways makes all this activity easier. I had a hard time envisioning the transfer of these types of activities to my own suburban/semi-rural setting. I have heard it urged that we should all move to the cities. I've never found this to be a very convincing mandate, however, especially since over 80% of our population lives outside the cities. What to do?
